This series of Lithium Niobate fiber optic modulators employs a Mach–Zehnder interferometer structure for precise optical power modulation with low drive voltage. Each modulator integrates a bias control section featuring a built-in micro-heater and optical power monitor, enabling bias adjustment by applying voltage to the heater while monitoring output intensity for optimal performance. An optional automatic bias control (ABC) version is available, utilizing slow-speed feedback circuitry to maintain the optimal bias point and compensate for DC drift. When the ABC option is selected, the modulator is mounted on a PCB, and its automatic control performance is fully tested prior to delivery. A 17 dB gain RF amplifier driver is also available and can be integrated into the control PCB for enhanced modulation drive capability.
