The Piezoelectric Fiber Phase Shifter (PIPS) uses a pair of aligned fiber collimators; applying voltage to a piezoelectric actuator varies their separation to produce a controlled optical phase (or time) delay. It offers low insertion loss, excellent polarization and mode-field preservation, compatibility with common fiber types (SM, PM, LMA), high-power handling, and a wide phase-shift range. We offer a compact driver to mount the device, providing 0–5 V control with modulation up to 1 kHz; control is via an SMA input and power is 12 V DC. Designed for fast, continuous operation, the device achieves large phase excursions near mechanical resonance, reducing drive power for applications requiring strong phase modulation. Each unit is rigorously tested and calibrated, delivering a robust, cost-effective solution for precision fiber phase shifting.
