The MEIS Series Fiber Optic NxM Matrix Switches direct incoming optical signals into selected output fibers using an array of digitally actuated MEMS micro-mirrors. It uniquely features highly beneficial advantages: true latching operation that maintains the active optical path when power is removed, the smallest size in the industry, low wavelength dependence, little drift over a wide operating temperature range, an ultra-high on/off extinction ratio (> 65 dB), high polarization extinction ratio (> 27 dB for PM configurations), low electrical power consumption, and a cost-effective architecture. Utilizing a patented MEMS configuration, the switch provides fully bidirectional, non-blocking matrix routing capable of accommodating all connection states — including duplex NxM configurations — within a single compact footprint. The switch is electrically activated via specified control signals and is available with integrated driver electronics.
